David Colvin review about company L & S Roofing & Remodeling

I used these guys a few years back and the bad experience still sits fresh in my mind. The owner, Mark, came out quickly to give me a quote and I signed a contract for them to do the work within a specified time frame. I offered to pay up front but he declined and said I would pay after the job was done. Then I never heard anything back. I kept calling and trying to get ahold of Mark but he would never answer or return my calls. I tried getting a different roofer at that point but everyone I called was busy and backed up. By coincidence Mark's father-in-law, Gary, was doing work for my father-in-law and heard about my issues. After Gary contacted Mark he finally called me back and told me that they had acquired a job through a rental company to do several apartments and were busy but would try to get a crew out. Then nothing yet again. Father-in-law told Gary about my issues again and he contacted Mark again. Then Gary, not Mark, contacted my wife and said L&S didn't have the funds to purchase supplies for the job and we would have to pay up front, which we did. Then randomly one day L&S showed up to do the job. When I got home I found old roofing nails throughout my yard, they didn't replace any plywood sheets, and they had used a different color shingle than agreed on. I tried contacting Mark but he avoided me again. I got ahold of Gary and he was extremely rude and blamed all of the issues on my wife and father-in-law. Mark called me a few days later and tried to assure me that the shingles I got were better quality than what I had paid for. I wasn't convinced. After his awkward apology I hung up and haven't been in touch since. I was lead to believe my roof would be done within a month but it was closer to 6 months before the job was finally done, all the while my roof was leaking. I hope they've improved since then but that first impression lasts a lifetime. I can't recommend them but I hear good things about Wisdom Roofing.
