Zak Ainsworth review about company Hammer Home Improvement LLC.

I used Hammer back in 2017 and they were great. When I recently needed work done on my house in preparation for moving, I was happy to have a company I thought I could trust. Unfortunately, the second time around, I was sorely disappointed. The first issue was schedule. At the time of the estimate, I very clearly explained my tight timeline. On the day I signed the contract, April 19, they told me they would be able to start "in 10 days" and the job would take "a few days." They told me they would contact me in a few days to finalize the start date. After several days of hearing nothing from them, I called and was told that I was scheduled for May 21 - over a month after I signed the contract. After I complained, they said they would try to get some people to start early. This was a frustrating combination of them sending people at odd times and saying people would be there at certain times and them showing up hours late or, in some cases, no one showing up at all. I had to constantly be texting/calling the foreman in order to get anyone to show up. They were only responsive when it was time for another deposit. They ended up finishing on May 21 - but this was almost two weeks after I expected them to be done based on the initial date I was given. As for the work itself, it was sufficient. Nothing special - but I blame that on the fact that it was several different teams that would show up, do half the job, and then another team would have to come in and finish a day or two later. One of the teams did a terrible job installing quarter round on my basement floor but Hammer ended up sending out another team to fix it. Some things were done in odd order (e.g. installing new smoke detectors AFTER painting the ceiling which resulted in them having to come back and touch up the ceiling.) Overall, I would not recommend Hammer and will not be using them again. Which is a shame because I have a lot of projects that I was planning to use them for in my new home but I will have to find someone else who I can trust to be honest with me and stick to a schedule.
