Mark Holowaychuk review about company Roof Lines East Inc

***PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING WITH DAVE FROM ROOFLINES*** In all the years I have worked with various contractors Dave is one of the most unprofessional contractor I have encountered. Dave was referred to us by a local Oakville builder to redo some work done by another contractor. He seemed nice on the initial meeting which happened in the summer of 2017. The work was being paid for by the builder (not by us) and Dave assured us that this was a job that was no issue to complete. He was quite informative showing us all the issues caused by the previous roofer and said he would come back shortly to get the job done. Weeks passed, months passed and at the end of the summer we followed up. Dave said he was very busy but would get it done. Again more time passed that we are now into December. Spoke with Dave on the phone (which he was in a bad mood) and asked when he was coming to get the work done. Dave wouldn’t give me a day or time, but assured me it would be done between Christmas and New Years. New year rolls around and I am now extremely frustrated. I didn’t have his cell phone so I phoned his office. I took multiple voicemails to his office (no one answers the phone live) and a pointed email to the builder saying we need the work done or they should get another roofer to do it. Dave finally calls me the day after the email went out to the builder and starts swearing at me telling me that I shouldn’t have sent that email to the builder. He said he will get the work done and hopes he never hears from us again. It wasn’t just the excessive swearing, but that he completely made me feel like I was inconveniencing him and ruining his day because I was holding him accountable to the work he said he would get done many months ago. To top it off he said it was only 4-5 hours worth of work!! When his team ended up completing the work they did a sloppy job in the portion they were responsible to fix (especially when compared to how the rest of the home was finished). Thankfully it is on the back portion of the house up high where it is not very visible. I would have been much more upset had rooflines done work that was highlight visible. Maybe this was an isolated example, but if I need anything done for my roof I would never use Dave/Rooflines and I highly recommend to pass this experience on to anyone who is looking for a roofer.
