We have a small cottage on Beaver Island, Lake Michigan. Greenwood ( under direction of local leader Preston ) has provided work on our house over the past several years - new roof, new sliding doors, some repairs. With the rise of the lake’s water level, our house has been in danger of erosion of the 15 foot dune bank. Regulations, working at the waterline and up the steep bank have stymied others we have talked to. However, Preston and his team have persevered and explored several different options for building a protective berm and sea wall. Everything has seen a different engineering and design challenge. We now have a solution that will work, be permanent, comply with all regulations and waterway restrictions, and save our house. In all of our experiences with Greenwald, we have never felt that we were secondary to the team; that they were only looking at making a quick dollar; that they didn’t know what they were doing. If a new challenge appeared (such as in building a new water barrier) they were able to find and contract with relevant experienced subcontractors - locally and from the mainland. We have the highest regard for how Greenwald works with its clients, and will recommend them to anyone who needs “normal” and specialized engineering and construction services.
