Really disappointed. They came out and did an estimate regarding a leak I have in the basement. The guy who came out never went on the roof, but told me that my chimney cap was cracked in half and would need to be replaced and that that was the source of the leak. Got an email estimate with a quote of $800 to replace the chimney cap. Now, I know nothing about this kind of stuff, but that seemed high so I got a second opinion. Turns out, my chimney cap is in great shape! The new guy who looked at it actually went on the roof and took a picture for me to see. He did some investigating and found that the leak was actually coming from where the chimney meets the ground. The crazy part is that if I would have gone with Empire and paid the $800, it still wouldn't have fixed the leak! I would not recommend this company unless you know about construction. And shame on them for trying to take advantage of a young couple in their first home.
