Armed with limited budget, little remodel knowledge and zero construction skills, we bought a 110 year old Seattle house. It was the only house we could buy without 75 other offers. The dilapidated roof, along with everything else, needed replacement. It is impossible to determine, unless a roofer had xray vision, what deficits lurked beneath.
