Ross and his team worked on a very complex re roof for a client of mine in Glasgow and had nothing but positive feedback. The job was completed ahead of schedule & below budget for the client. Highly recommend.

A big mistake contacting Ross Clark Roofing I got a quote from a larger business (1st quote) to replace garage and porch roof with fibre glass and widen drainage hole, but my wife suggested getting another quote. I phoned Ross Clark August 2018, I wish I hadn’t. Ross Clark gave a verbal quote he said he would beat the 1st quote on price and that he would do a good job without any shortcuts. He said he would reverse his van onto my drive to throw the old felt straight into his van. This of course led me to believe that he would strip the felt off the roof. At no time did Ross Clark discuss covering the old felt. Compared to the other business, Ross Clark’s work standard was far below the standard of the first quote from start to finish. The larger business supplied a written quote, I had to phone Ross for a written quote, he e-mailed an estimate, and an estimate is not exactly a quote. The larger business quote stated they would remove felt and strip garage roof to wood and replace any rotten tongue and groove (of which there are two rotten), sterling board decking over existing wood ,slope gutter and make drain outlet bigger then coat roof with base resin then fibre glass then top coat, lead flashing and plastic facia. Ross Clark brushed the debris off flat roof applied a coat of base resin fibre glass on top of existing felt then Tuff Stuff top coat (leaving roof rippled) then a poorly finished plastic edging (gaps), his worker even cut into the existing facia. When I noticed that Ross Clark’s worker had applied resin and fibreglass onto my roofing felt I complained to Ross Clark, he then reduced the price by £200. However I would have preferred a quality job. The larger business quote came with a 25 year guarantee; Ross Clark’s estimate came with a (I have no faith in) ten year guarantee. I emphasized before he started the work that I was having problems with drainage from the flat roof and that the drainage hole needed widening, he said he would fit a wider outlet,Ross Clark’s worker failed to fit a wider drain at the time of coating the roof. I contacted Ross Clark numerous times about the drainage hole, as the drainage became blocked in October 2018 due to torrential rain causing flooding on roof and ingress in to the garage and porch, but I got excuse after excuse (moving house etc), he eventually came out and fitted a cage over the drain, but not a larger drain. There were plenty dry days during these weeks. It’s not even a case of; you get the quality you pay for as the job( including reduction ) was only £240 cheaper. I have never received a receipt even though I asked a least four times. Covering the roof felt instead of stripping the felt seems like a shortcut to me. The performance and integrity of TuffTech Pro System is dependent on a sound suitable substrate and surface condition. A bad foundation will give a bad job. I showed Ross the rotten tongue and groove; he said aye we’ll sort that, still not repaired.
