The diligence and thoroughness of Jim Eggers and his crew was amazing, and I could not believe all that they were able to accomplish for me. Through Millard Roofing's efforts, my house received a new roof, gutters, windows, shutters, fence and air conditioner, my entire house was repainted, and my entire deck was refinished -- all at no cost to me! The Millard Roofing crew was at my house multiple times to ensure that all damage was found, pointed out to the insurance adjuster, properly repaired/installed, and that the compensation was appropriate for the same. I wanted to post a long and thoughtful review of the work we had Millard Roofing do for us. Until last year, we had never made an insurance claim on any of the houses we have had over the last 22 years. Hail damage is a lot more complex than people think and there are good insurance adjusters, bad insurance adjusters, bad roofing companies and good roofing companies. Our goal in making the insurance claim was to get our house back to normal with no damage in the most fair and reasonable way possible. We weren't looking to hire the lowest cost roofing company, so we could pocket some or most of the insurance money. We wanted the work done professionally and correctly. After the inspection from Millard Roofing and Farm Bureau Insurance, we had roof damage, gutter damage, and 8 windows that were ruined. When you sign on with Millard Roofing, you agree to let them deal with your insurance company on your behalf. Some people don't like this, but for us, it made sense since they are experts and we are not. On to the work: Positives: -After hail storm they were quick to respond and quick to confirm we had damage. -Initial assessment was done by Jim and Tim. They both were great. -Once work started, they were very communicative. I received a phone call literally every day around 4:00 from our project manager Jayme giving me an update on the work done that day, and work being done the following day. -Work was done very professionally, and after every stage, an inspection took place to confirm work was done. When my roof was finished, Jim inspected the roof, and showed me 12 shingles that were done incorrectly, and were replaced. Very detail oriented. -When you need windows replaced, there are two ways to do it. 1) cut your windows out with a hacksaw, put in replacement windows and caulk them. 2) remove siding, install windows with factory sealed “fins” which is how your builder installed your windows. Insurance companies prefer you do #1. The correct way to do the work is #2. Millard Roofing advocates on your behalf for #2. -Each of the subcontractors I talked with has worked with Millard Roofing for 10+ years. That matters. -Their work comes with a 5 year guarantee on labor and materials. Everyone else is 1 year. Bumps in the road: -When windows were installed the interior woodwork wasn’t finished to our expectations. They came out immediately and made the subcontractors redo it all. It was then finished perfectly. -Roofers brought their waste trailer on my driveway and cracked my driveway. Millard Roofing immediately agreed to have it taken care of. -Insurance company denied claims to replace non matching parts of my siding. It took a few month to resolve, but it was resolved. In summary, Millard Roofing was great to work with. The process required patience from all sides. It is what it is. Working with Jayme, Tim, and Jim has been excellent. I have referred them to several other customers, who have had a similar experience. 5 stars.
