This is one of the best contractors I have found in the Dayton area. They recently finished a 6600 square foot slate roof renovation for my historic bicentennial barn. Slate roofs and cathedral ceiling insulation are tricky on their own, but the combination is very complicated to pull off in a way that is structurally sound and won’t retain water. I had easily 20 companies evaluate and quote this roof from Home Depot to Slate specialists. No other company could match their combination of know-how and cost because no other company was willing to invest the time to get into the details of what would need to be done and what creative means could be applied to simplify the project. Zach from Apex spent many hours detailing every component from the new slate down to the fasteners so my structural engineer could compute an exact weight of the roof assembly and be sure it would work with the 100+ year old interior structure. Together they engineered a system that could be partially assembled on the ground to speed up installation. They have also done multiple asphalt roofs, wood floor installs, and window installs for our rent/flip business. I’ve always found the quotes to be fair and the quality of work to be high.

This company is a joke. They did roofing repair for my 83 year old grandmother and left a mess that is unfathomable. Trash everywhere, broken tiles everywhere, and not a single thing cleaned up. The worst part is they left massive heavy items behind that elderly woman could dream of picking up. When we called earlier about a ladder they left behind, Apex denied it was theirs. This was before we noticed the horrible mess left here. Stay away from this company. There are far better contractors in the Dayton area

The work crew was courteous and respectful. As far as I can tell the work they did on my home is good, time and rain will be the test of that. The only reason I did not give five stars is because we had some difficulty getting a set start date for the work, and their communication on this could have been better. Overall I am satisfied.

We had a leaking roof in September due to torrential downpours and high winds and Zack of Apex was the only contractor that I called that night (a Friday night) that actually came to the house within 1 hour of my call. He was here on-site when our insurance adjuster was here, and he worked with us through the entire insurance process -- which took over 2 months before we finally got approval for a full roof replacement. Zack worked wonderfully with our insurance, and once we got the funds, his crews were on site within 3 days and had both our house & detached garage done in 2 days. And they did this in 32 degree weather! They cleaned everything up from the property wonderfully and left nothing behind! Apex has been great from start to finish, and we highly recommend them! I would highly recommend apex. They did great quality work in a timely fashion for good price. Zach made my experience a breeze answered all questions took care of all concerns. He worked with my night shift schedule to make sure i was taken care of throughout. Thanks guys.
