Very pleased with Russell and his crew. He went above and beyond to help us with repairs to our bathroom, kitchen floor, walls, ceiling and exterior repair. I was immediatly impressed with his professionalism and knowledge, but what stood out the most was the quality of the work. During the job he was always easy to get in contact with and was accurate with his estimate of how long it would take to complete the job. His crew was equally friendly, professional and trustworthy. We already have plans to do additional upgrades to our home and there is no doubt that we will be using Powell Remodeling again.
I was very pleased with the work that Powell Remodeling did to renovate our master bathroom. It was quite an involved project and needed expertise in several areas (structural repair, shower installation and extensive tile work). Powell has the resources to handle the large scope of our project. The staff was very friendly and professional. We received very good value for the cost of the project. I would call Powell for our future needs again.
Met company representative at lake county fairgrounds event. Powell Remodeling installed our wood floors. Very professional company with excellent service. Floors were done in a timely manner and are beautiful. I have since used them for some painting projects and would highly recommend them.
Very unhappy with our experience with Powell. A job that should have taken a week or two took almost 3 months to complete. We had them redo our dining room – paint, new flooring, molding and a chair rail. We had already purchased all of the materials as we were planning to do the work ourselves. It started out great. However, on the last day of work, the baseboards were painted and nothing was put down to protect the floor, resulting in scratches on our brand-new floor. The worst scratch covered the width of the room, and there were other scratches, as well as paint drops on the new floor. Over the next few months I talked to the owner Russell multiple times. He never apologized for the problem and was rude and condescending each time I spoke with him. Since we did not purchase our floor from him, he acted like it wasn’t his problem to fix, and tried to blame it on us for buying a “cheap” floor. He also told us the floor was discontinued and that’s why we got it cheap. It was not a cheap floor and we did not buy it discontinued. I later found out that the floor had not been discontinued, and had to purchase another box of it in order to get the floor fixed. In the end, the floor was removed and re-installed, replacing the pieces that were scratched. However, this only happened after they came to the house to look at it three times. Russell’s plan was to cover the scratches with a wax crayon-type thing, but the guy who actually installed the floor said that wouldn’t work and it was his idea to re-install the floor. I don’t think the owner acted very professionally and he never took responsibility for the issue. Something that should have been pretty easy thing turned into a giant headache.
