I oversaw a project that involved removing a 200 year old slate roof from a traditional byre and saving as many of the slates as possible. The byre was then re-roofed with reproduction slates and the old slates were resized and reshaped by hand by Declan and his crew and placed on another old dairy shed. As part of the job they repaired old rafters, installed new wall plates where required, rebuild some old stone wall, and installed roof windows. Weathersafe Roofing and the owner Declan are meticulously clean and tidy. They have genuine roofing skills and were comfortable working with traditional roofing techniques. Every bit of rubbish was taken away in skips and the finished roofs look fantastic and will hopefully last another 200 years. I am very satisfied. The attached photo shows the dairy roof before the guttering etc was completed.
