I booked this company for a relative. They did a superb job at my grandma's home in Hastings. Carried out some brickwork and some general repairs throughout her home and we are all delighted with the high quality of work.

We approached Downton builders as they were recommended to us by close friends. Our goal was to merge the dinning room along with the kitchen and create a better flowing and more sociable space. Although it seemed like an easy task as one wall was dividing both areas, the reality was for from that. After a series of steal beams along with the removal from top to bottom of a old disused chimney stack topped with scaffolding and roof work we eventually got there and this is only credit to Downton. They have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish, explaining every step of the process and the associated costs. We are pleased clients and would highly recommend.

One star is too high, avoid! *** Hi Stevie, To clarify my review is not to do with just a quote it is referring to the original job that took 2 weeks to fit a shower that still leaked after your company had tried to re-fit it nearly 3 times and with tiles that looked like they had been put up by a 2 year old. I must give you credit as you did offer to fix the mistakes made by your company for free but you requested the property to be empty for 4 weeks and then wanted to charge me nearly £400 to put dust sheets down on the floor that had already been destroyed by your staff. I had asked Downton to quote for urgent repairs due to a leaking water main. Unfortunately they did not turn up for the appointment to quote, i rearranged and had to wait weeks only for for them to not turn up again - There was no feedback the entire time and this has delayed my repairs by a month. I would recommend looking elsewhere until they can resolve their issues
