They mapped out the process for the repair of my roof, including all the insurance details. They were true to their word and it all happened as stated. They worked well with my insurance company and the time frame they forecast (thank goodness the weather cooperated) was spot on. The crew that did the work was excellent. They were really good at covering bushes etc and cleaned up really well. I think I found two or three of the little green disks from the nails in my yard...that was it. They finished it all in one day...it was late when they finished but they knocked it out. I'm very pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

Nations Home Remodelers (NHR) is your best friend until things get tough. So BEWARE! They are storm chasers that latch onto a neighborhood and try and get as much business as possible. When they are trying to sell their services they promise you they will take care of everything. NHR assured me that I was in experienced hands: that I should not speak with the insurance company directly and that NHR would represent my needs better and more articulately than I could represent myself. However, once I got denied by the insurance company NHR was nowhere to be found. When the adjuster contacted me stating that there was no damage, that my contractor agreed with this and I should drop my claim, I frantically called NHR for support. But my calls went unanswered. NHR was present with the adjuster and did NOTHING to represent my interests or even tell me the outcome. Since they told me to speak only with them, it was particularly unnerving hearing nothing from them. I continued to pursue, not sure why, NHR to find out who was telling the truth about my roof. Insurance companies are notorious for denying claims. Finally NHR called me back 3 weeks later to tell me to request a new insurance adjuster from my insurance company. It gave me pause that if this lack of responsiveness could happen before we do the work, what would happen after the work was completed and I had a problem. So I decided to cancel my contract with NHR and seek another opinion. The owner contacted me and apologized for the poor customer service and said he would handle my case personally if I gave NHR a second chance. So I did. I set up an appointment with the new insurance adjuster and NHR. NHR never showed for the appointment. Later that day I got an email telling me that since I had sought a second opinion, NHR no longer wanted to do business with me. All very suspicious and curious, so again BEWARE!

Remodeling an older home is always frustrating. The larger to scope of the project, the more frustrating it gets. Demolition always seems to reveal underlying issues that require repairs which adds to the stress and costs. Dealing with insurance companies to get them to pay to fix storm damage is also frustrating. Nations Home Remodelers (NHR) provided a detailed estimate for known repairs up front and worked tirelessly which my insurance company to justify the maximum amount of allowable coverage for the repairs. Additionally, NHR worked with me to get the cost of non-covered repairs within my budget and in a timely manner. I also appreciated that each team cleaned up their work site at the end of each work day. Thank you for a pleasant experience. Mark Nuttle, Walkersville, MD.
