The ridge vent was installed incorrectly and we were charged for a drip edge that was not installed. Owner will not return our calls. We entered into contract with Insurance Restoration Group on June 4, 2014 to install a new roof on our existing home. The work was completed in one day by a team of foreign workers and we were not happy with the ridge vent. We contacted EJ Ford (owner) and he sent someone out but the it was still not done properly. There were large gaps where the ridge vent did not have enough nails in it to hold it down and avoid winds getting under it. We contacted EJ again and he sent Don and another worker out and they "tweaked" it to where it was not as noticeable but the problem was still not solved. Called EJ again and he and Don met us out there where we were told that it would take two months of sun's heat to make ridge vent lay down properly (we were first told it was a bad beam, then we were told it would take two full days of sun, now he is saying two months). We contacted two other professional roofers to look at the job, and they said "he is lieing." The sun will not make the ridge vent "lay down" any more, they both inspected and concluded there were not enough nails in the ridge vent and would cost minimum of $350 if they wanted us to have them fix it. We contacted EJ again and he refuses to answer our calls or respond to texts/emails. We were also charged $200 for a ridge vent which was not installed at all.
