I was so glad that I called Shelter Pro to handle my roof and I would recommend them to anyone. They came out right away to handle my quote and coordinated with my insurance company so I didn’t have to worry about anything. His crew made sure the entire time that they cleaned up as they worked and left nothing whine it a beautiful roof. I will also be calling them back to paint as well!

This is going to be a long detailed negative review. There were some structural issues present on the roof, rotten wood ect. This all began in july 2016. They were contracted months prior to remove and replace a 3 tab shingle roof on a house built in the early 70's. They installed the roof in a rain storm (big no no). They shingled over rotted holes in some spots. Didnt clean the pipes and water was leaking in down the pipe jacks (rubber boot that go over pipes). The shingles were peaking up where they didnt flatten the nails on the one underneath, there was debris left on the roof which they papered and shingled right over. On a side note the reason they didnt inspect the wood on the roof is that they never saw it, they VIOLATED the contract by not removing the entire roof. They left the original paper down, they didnt remove or flatten any nails,they shingled right over them, the roof made me sea sick looking at the way it rolled. There were several high ridges where they left stuff down and just shingled over it. They did 1 repair where a stove stack was removed and they missed the rafter with decking (bad cut) and left a huge gap and a void between the decking sheets which sagged. They installed the shingles crooked, deviating from a straight line as much as 6 inches in under 5 feet, i am guessing they lost their chalk line in the rain storm. The drip edge was the wrong color, they installed silver, and they had no tin snips so they bent it until it broke and left gaps between the pieces during install defeating the purpose of it, also they didnt nail it down properly in most places. The crew they sent was ill equipped to do the job, as well as lacking the skills, based upon finished product. The crew leader just sat in the truck. There was never a representative from Shelterpro on site from start to finish to inspect, or insure proper installation, or to instruct the roofers to take up the ENTIRE roof system. The basic background is: it is my elderly mothers house, as soon as they finished she called in a panic, i had to drive 40 miles to come look at this attrocity. Called the company, the owner came out following day and tried to placate me but the look on his face told a different story. After multiple return trips over a couple weeks and having to drive in every time from canyon lake I ultimately threw them off the property and refused payment. Enough is enough. They refused to re-do roof. They wanted to do a couple cosmetic spot fixes and get paid. If you look at their google reviews it seems that every review starting in april of 2016 is bad. I recorded every call and text, I have pictures and video of everything. Ultimately I called another roofing company, outlined the issues, and informed them up front of my expectations and the 99% chance this was going to end up in a court room (after exhaustive research and looking at several of their jobs in my area),and they took the job. NOTE: The company (Radiant) did a fantastic professional job, They fully documented the tear off. I repaired an issue by the driveway, in the process of taking up that section of roof i discovered original paper left down There were 12 sheets of decking that had to be replaced, including the 2 pieces that shelterpro incorrectly installed. How did they miss that? oh, yeah, never took up entire roof. The highlight of their lazines or incompetence was a hole rotted in the roof over 18" in diameter, cant miss it. They flipped a shingle over, nailed it over the edges and kept going. They had 3 sheets of decking sitting 5 feet away. Trash in the yard, neighbors yard, trash in the trees, trash left on the roof. No tarps used. Every thing they did was unprofessional and incorrect. I am happy with my decision to refuse payment and get a professional crew to re-do it. NOTE: Somehow this company got all of their Google reviews erased including this one above. Which i still have copies of, so i reposted it. I will post pictures if it becomes necessary to illustrate my grievances.
