BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY - CAUSED £1200 OF DAMAGE. (1) FEB 2013: 'Work' performed after numerous missed appointments (2) MAR 2013: Renov8 (North West) Limited confirmed in writing that work was not satisfactory, and that they would address issues (3) JUNE 2013: No correspondence despite many attempts to contact Renov8 (North West) Limited. Damage / quotation for repairs confirmed by independent surveyor / builder. After using Renov8 Northwest for gutter cleaning, we asked them if the tired-looking cladding on our house could be painted black to give it a new lease of life. They said yes and that the work would cost £100 plus another £20 to coat it for protection from moss and algae in the future. After several missed appointments, where I took days off work and the company did not even have the decency to let me know they could not come, they finally turned up on a very cloudy day. Indeed the heavens opened intermittently during the job, during which time the guys sat in their van waiting for the rain to stop. The weather eventually got too bad for them to continue and they left, insisting on payment and assuring me they would return to finish the job. By the next day, a substantial amount of the paint had come off, making the cladding look more unsightly than before. Many, many attempts were made to contact the company via both telephone and email. All communication went unanswered until they did send one of the fitters back to 'finish' the job and add the protective coat. Upon arrival he said it looked like it was going to rain and we did not want the same problem as last time so he would come back yet again to finish the black paintwork but said he could apply the protective coat, even though the work was unfinished. I was dubious about this as how can you apply a protective top coat to a partially painted surface that still needs further paint? He assured me it was fine and insisted on the £20 payment which I stupidly gave him. I also mentioned that it looked like the wrong black paint had been used on the work already carried out as not only had a lot come off but what was left looked dull. He agreed it looked wrong and said someone would call me to confirm this and whether a gloss paint would be used in the future. Guess what?? No communication followed. So again the continuous unanswered emails and calls started. The only thing to elicit a response from 'director'' Darren was a previous negative review on here from my husband. Darren, with whom we had never had contact before, suddenly appeared concerned, mainly because the review was 'damaging the business'. While calling us liars in his email, he did agree that the work carried out was unsatisfactory and he would be just as angry if all this had happened to him. Cue another reassurance that the work would be 'completed' if we removed the review. We did this but after not hearing from him again, the review was understandably reposted. In the meantime, while a builder told us that the wrong paint had been used for the job and that all the paintwork would need sanding down before being repainted with the CORRECT PAINT, a surveyor has been out and said that this is not actually possible and the cladding now needs replacing at a cost of £1200.
