Jim Russell review about company Mid Michigan Metal Sales (Roofing Material & Supplies)

The product seems to be very good (We have only had the material installed for 1.5 years, so it is certainly too soon to know. ) but the customer service stinks. Also, read ALL the fine print. The directions for measurement say to be sure you measure it EXACTLY, however they get to cut it from -0.5 to + 2.0 inches. Yep, you guessed it, we were cutting everyone of those panels to get them to fit correctly. Then there was the delivery- We had panels that were 32 feet long, and the instructions were to have "someone" be there to help you unload. (They have no means to mechanically unload the panels) The bundles were literally tons of material, and if we had not had a tractor with a front end loader, all the bundles would have had to have been disassembled and each panel unloaded individually. Also, we ordered Gabled pieces and with that comes the z channel pieces automatically. Yep you guessed it again, we had enough gable, but ran out of z pieces........And if you are doing the installation yourself, which may go over the 30 day "return policy" forget it. Then they sold us the wrong snow stop pieces for our style of roof. I had to go to the manufacturer of the snow stop to get the right one, I took the printed materials back to Mid Michigan to show them the correct item, and they made a copy of the print out because they DIDN'T KNOW. So, in summary, the knowledge and communication of information about metal roofing stinks. If you are a do it yourself kind of person, don't expect any help from them. Also, buy a really GOOD set of cutters, as you are going to need them to get the panels the correct length. Oh, one last item. We ordered some parts, they called and told us they were in, we went to pick them up and they gave our parts to someone else, ans then we had to wait another 4 working days to get them.
