RENEE FIELD review about company Ravlin's Roofing & Painting

We hired Ravlin's Roofing because the owner was a neighbor. Turns out there was no caulking done after the existing shingles were removed and replaced by them. The flashing around the chimney was improperly installed and not caulked. The drip edges were sloppy and misaligned causing damage to the wood. The shingles were replaced with low grade material. The shingles will never make it the 20 year warranty as stated. And the leaks have begun to say the least. With all the walking back and forth by the crew and dragging of materials across the portion of the roof that was rubber it was also damaged. The cost to repair the damage caused by their inferior job costs more than the original re-shingling. Not only that but Ravlin's Roofing was $2000 more expensive than other roofing companies. This is not a case of you pay for what you get. We paid more thinking we were getting quality and superior work. I feel roofing companies should be required by municipality to acquire a permit thereby also requiring an inspector to approve the final job. As a normal home owner has no idea what is expected nor required to gauge a good job.
